Nowruz Celebrated at the University of Glasgow

The Azerbaijani Society at the University of Glasgow, operating under the university's Student Representative Council (SRC), has celebrated the Nowruz holiday.

The event aimed to introduce the historical and cultural significance of Nowruz to the university community. In connection with the holy month of Ramadan, an iftar dinner was also organized, and traditional Azerbaijani dishes were served to the guests, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.

Participants were informed about the origins, customs, and role of Nowruz in Azerbaijani culture, and various entertaining programs were held. One of the symbolic traditions of the holiday, the egg-tapping game, was organized, and winners received gifts.

Students danced to the sounds of Azerbaijani national music during the Nowruz celebration, experiencing a joyful festive atmosphere.

The Azerbaijani Society at the University of Glasgow plans to continue organizing events in the future aimed at promoting national values.
