Azerbaijani diaspora scholar Vafa Mustafayev dies at 88 in France

Vafa Mustafayev, an active member of the Azerbaijani diaspora in France and a renowned scholar, has passed away at the age of 88.

Born in Baku in 1938, Vafa Mustafayev completed his secondary and higher education in his hometown. He later moved to France, where he actively engaged in diaspora activities, consistently working to promote the truth about Azerbaijan and preserve national and moral values, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.

Vafa Mustafayev worked for many years at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, serving as Head of the Asia Division and project coordinator. He made significant contributions to promoting Azerbaijan’s young talents on UNESCO platforms, strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and UNESCO, and developing the scientific diaspora.

The State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed deep sorrow over his passing and extended heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, and the diaspora community.
