Held in Eastern Zangazur from August 2 to 8 this year, the 7th Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth has gone down in history as an important event in global diaspora history, while also becoming an unforgettable experience for its participants.
Young people who took part in the camp shared their impressions with the Brazilian media, the Jnews.az news portal, and Israel’s Russian-language newspaper Novosti Nedeli, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
Yakov Lukimson, who is originally from Azerbaijan and was born in Israel, emphasized that he has a strong attachment to Azerbaijani culture, music and cuisine. He noted that mutual respect, trust and friendship developed among young people from different countries participating in the camp. Lukimson said that Azerbaijan has tolerant and multicultural values and is developing rapidly. He also spoke about the sincere atmosphere at the camp, describing it as a platform for open dialogue. The participant said that the camp gave him an opportunity to learn more about Azerbaijan and made him truly feel like “a son of Azerbaijan.”
Halil Ceyhan, who attended the camp from Brazil, highlighted a meeting with prominent Azerbaijani figures from the fields of culture and the arts as one of the most memorable experiences of the 7th Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth. He noted that during the meeting, moderated by Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs, People's Artists Cahangir Novruzov, Fakhraddin Manafov, Yalchin Adigozalov and Mehriban Zaki, as well as Honored Artist Javanşir Guliyev, exchanged views with the young participants.
