Vagif Seyidbeyov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received Jalil Astanov, head of the Azerbaijan House operating in Odesa, Ukraine, and chairman of the Birlik Azerbaijani Diaspora Organization in Odesa.
Welcoming the guest, the deputy chairman emphasized that Azerbaijani communities and compatriots living abroad are under the attention of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
He highly praised the activities of Azerbaijanis abroad aimed at closely integrating into local society, promoting the truth about Azerbaijan, and raising awareness of the country’s rich cultural heritage and culture.
He noted the important role played by diaspora communities in developing relations between countries and shared recommendations regarding their future activities.
Jalil Astanov was subsequently presented with the “For Service to Diaspora Activities” Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Expressing his deep gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for the high appreciation of his activities, Astanov said he would continue to make every effort to contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and to further strengthening the organization of the Azerbaijani diaspora’s activities.
