Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vagif Seyidbayov met with Hajar Karaman, an activist from the Azerbaijani community living in the Netherlands.
Welcoming the guest warmly, the deputy chairman highly praised the successful integration of Azerbaijani compatriots into Dutch society, as well as their activities aimed at promoting the truth about Azerbaijan and introducing the country’s rich cultural heritage. He described the young compatriot’s efforts to organize Azerbaijanis living abroad and to convey historical truths about Azerbaijan to the Dutch public as commendable, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
Later, Hajar Karaman was presented with the medal “For Service in Diaspora Activities” of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for the high appreciation of her work and stated that she would continue making every effort for the solidarity of Azerbaijani compatriots in the Netherlands.
For information, while serving as chairperson of the Young Socialists organization for the North Amsterdam region, Hajar Karaman submitted a draft resolution on the Khojaly genocide to the leadership of the Socialist Party. She also proposed initiatives for discussing the tragedy caused by Armenian armed groups in the Dutch parliament and for giving the massacre a political and legal assessment.
During the 44-day Patriotic War and the post-war period, she sought to convey Azerbaijan’s voice of truth to Dutch society through meetings of the Labour Party (Netherlands) and the Socialist Party, as well as through various events and demonstrations she organized, drawing attention to Azerbaijan’s just position.
Hajar Karaman also participated in the 3rd Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth held in Shusha in 2022. Since that year, she has been a member of the Azerbaijani Diaspora Youth.
