An event marking August 1 — Azerbaijani Alphabet and Azerbaijani Language Day — was held at the Georgian Azerbaijanis Integration Center (GAIC), operating in the Georgian city of Marneuli.
Students from the weekend school and art club participated in the event, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
GAIC teachers Khayala Mustafayeva and Anna Allahverdiyeva spoke about the importance of preserving, enriching and passing the Azerbaijani language on to future generations.
The students recited poems dedicated to their native language and demonstrated their love for Azerbaijani. Artwork created by participants of the art club added a special touch to the event.
It was emphasized that initiatives of this kind make an important contribution to strengthening children's respect for their native language, national and spiritual values, and the Azerbaijani alphabet, while helping nurture them in the spirit of national identity.
