Yefim Abramov, a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan, director and screenwriter, has died in Israel.
Born in Baku in 1948, Yefim Abramov graduated from the directing faculty of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). He worked for many years at Azerbaijanfilm film studio, making a significant contribution to the development of Azerbaijani cinema. He participated in the production of such films as Don't Be Afraid, I'm with You!, Araqarışdıran, Latifə and other screen works.
After moving to Israel in 1990, Yefim Abramov maintained close ties with his homeland and worked to promote Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage and develop cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The death of the artist, who made significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani cinema, is a major loss for the country’s cultural community.
The leadership and staff of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed deep sorrow over the death of Yefim Abramov and extended their heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
