An event was held in Stockholm, organized jointly by the Sweden-Azerbaijan Association (SAF) and the Karabakh weekend school, on the occasion of Sweden’s National Day.
The event was attended by members of the Azerbaijani community, an employee of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Sweden, public activists, students of the “Karabakh” Azerbaijani weekend school, and their parents, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
Representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora – Sevda Dadashova, Eluca Atali, Aynur Malikova, Narmina Karimova, Babak Azad, Taymaz Tabrizli, Ayda Amir Hashimi, Emir Efendi, Ruhiyya Isazade, and Nadir Hollenbrand – congratulated the Swedish people on this significant day and expressed their high appreciation for Sweden’s commitment to democracy, human rights, equality, and multiculturalism.
Speakers also highlighted the successful integration of Azerbaijanis living in Sweden into society, their active participation in social, public, and cultural life, as well as the importance of passing on Azerbaijani language, culture, and national values to future generations. It was emphasized that diaspora activities play an important role in strengthening friendship and cultural ties between the two countries.
The activities of the students of the “Karabakh” Azerbaijani weekend school in promoting Azerbaijani cultural heritage in Swedish society and preserving and transmitting the language and culture to the younger generation were praised as commendable.
The event, held in a friendly and warm atmosphere, created opportunities for mutual exchange, acquaintance, and communication among participants.
