The Azerbaijan national minifootball team has become European champions after defeating Ukraine 2–0 in the final match of the European Championship held in Slovakia.
This outstanding victory was celebrated with great enthusiasm by compatriots in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
Members of the community strongly supported the national team during the match, organized by the “Land of Fire” Society and the Budapest Azerbaijan House. Fans waved Azerbaijani flags at the stadium, chanted national slogans, and proudly demonstrated a spirit of solidarity.
The support of the Azerbaijani diaspora for national teams in international sporting events has already become a tradition. The unity of compatriots in Slovakia has been remembered as a successful example of the patriotism and national solidarity of Azerbaijanis living abroad.
