In Amsterdam, the capital of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, postage stamps have been issued dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the prominent Azerbaijani artist Mirza Qadim Irevani.
The stamps were prepared through cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art and diaspora activist and choreographer Saltanat Ravangizi, who is based in Amsterdam, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
This initiative, aimed at promoting Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage internationally, was implemented within the framework of Saltanat Ravangizi’s “Pearls of Azerbaijan” project. The stamps feature Mirza Qadim Irevani’s famous works “Mah Talat Khanim” and “Fatali Shah.”
The stamps, issued by the Dutch postal operator PostNL, will have their first copies preserved in the collection of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art.
This project is not only commemorative in nature but also serves as an important contribution to promoting Azerbaijani classical art on the international stage and developing cultural diplomacy within diaspora activities.
For information, nearly 50 postage stamps have been issued over the past five years within the ongoing “Pearls of Azerbaijan” project.
