A panel discussion titled “Azerbaijan’s Foreign Policy and Public Diplomacy” was met with great interest at the 7th Diaspora Youth Summer Camp, held in Eastern Zangazur under the slogan “Reviving Cities.”
The panel was moderated by Vaqif Seyidbeyov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and featured Vilayat Guliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Anar Huseynov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Albania, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
The discussion focused on the key priorities of Azerbaijan’s independent and multifaceted foreign policy, the country’s growing role in regional and global processes, and efforts to further strengthen its position in the international relations system.
The participants also discussed the importance of public diplomacy in contemporary international relations, the role of the diaspora in conveying Azerbaijan’s national interests and realities to the international community, and the contribution of Azerbaijanis living abroad to strengthening the country’s international standing. The young participants were given practical recommendations on communicating Azerbaijan’s realities to international audiences.
Responding to a question from the youth about changes in Azerbaijan’s diplomatic activities following the liberation of Karabakh from occupation, the ambassadors said that the historic victory had established new areas of focus on their diplomatic agendas.
The diplomats skillfully answered a wide range of questions from Azerbaijani and foreign young people attending the camp from different countries.
The camp participants emphasized that meetings of this kind, which carry significant historical and political importance, provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the priorities of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy.
It should be noted that the 7th Diaspora Youth Summer Camp is being held in Eastern Zangazur from August 2 to 8, jointly organized by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. A total of 123 young people from 64 countries are participating in the camp. Previous camps were held in Shaki, Shamakhi, Shusha, Nakhchivan, Lachin and Khankendi, with more than 700 young people from 84 countries participating overall.
