Türkiye Honors Azerbaijani Poet Mikayil Mushfig at Izmir Memorial Ceremony

A memorial ceremony dedicated to the renowned Azerbaijani poet Mikayil Mushfig was held in Izmir, Türkiye.

The event was attended by Roza Ibadova Kocamaz, Azerbaijan's cultural ambassador and artist, as well as musicians Ali Poladzade and Sarvar Hasanov. The performers presented a musical composition based on Mushfig's famous poem "Read, Tar" ("Oxu, tar"), receiving warm applause and appreciation from the audience, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.

As part of the program, several of Mikayil Mushfig's poems were recited, while attendees were introduced to the poet's life, literary legacy, and his significant contribution to Azerbaijani literature.

Among the speakers were Aygun Eroglu, head of the Sanat Değirmanı platform, Nadira Ozsu, and Eshref Tuna, Vice President of the Federation of Turkish-Azerbaijani Associations (TADEF) and Chairman of the Izmir Azerbaijan Culture and Solidarity Association. They highlighted Mushfig's rich literary heritage and emphasized the importance of cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

The ceremony was held at the Alsancak Culture and Arts Factory Museum Directorate with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye.

At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation and participation were presented to those involved.

The memorial ceremony served as an important initiative for promoting Azerbaijani literature and further strengthening cultural relations between the two brotherly nations.
