Nicat Əzimzadə, a young Azerbaijani living in Tajikistan, has achieved success in the "Asia Cup 2025" international taekwondo tournament held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
In the competition, which saw over 800 athletes from 28 countries, our compatriot represented Tajikistan and showed impressive results in both individual and team events. He secured second place in the team competition and won a gold medal in the individual category, defeating all his opponents in the 45 kg weight division for the 14-15 age group, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
It is noteworthy that Nicat Əzimzadə was born in Baku in 2010, currently lives in Dushanbe, and is a 9th-grade student. The young athlete has previously achieved several victories, including second place in a tournament in Tajikistan and first place in Dushanbe. Nicat is a medalist in various local and international competitions.
This success of the Azerbaijani young athlete has been met with great joy and pride among diaspora representatives.
