Azerbaijan Launches Third Edition of Diaspora Academy

The State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan has launched the third edition of its Diaspora Academy project, “Diaspora Academy-3.” The first training session, held online via Zoom on October 10, focused on “Fundamentals of Diaspora Policy and Global Models: State-Diaspora Relations and Institutional Frameworks.”

The trainer, Vali Alibayov, head of the Center for Political Technologies, provided participants with detailed information on the historical background and meaning of the concept of diaspora, the main areas of diaspora activity, lobbying practices, and the legal and regulatory frameworks governing diaspora policies in different countries, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.

Organized in an interactive format, the training encouraged participants to exchange views and share their experiences. The trainer also answered questions from attendees.

The training sessions will take place once a week from October to December this year. Participants who complete the “Diaspora Academy-3” programme will receive certificates.

The project aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of diaspora representatives, prepare them for effective diaspora engagement, support them in acquiring fundraising skills, and develop professionals capable of sharing their knowledge and experience with other diaspora representatives in their countries of residence.
