An Azerbaijani Student Organization has been established at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston), located in the US state of Massachusetts.
The organization was founded to bring together Azerbaijani students at the university, strengthen their solidarity and ensure that Azerbaijan is represented with distinction within the university community, News Cover reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
Its main areas of activity include fostering cooperation among students, promoting national and cultural values, and raising awareness of Azerbaijan’s history, culture and rich heritage within the US academic community. The organization also plans to arrange various educational, cultural and social events.
The newly established organization is expected to contribute to strengthening Azerbaijan’s student diaspora and supporting the organization of young Azerbaijanis studying abroad.
